Passive profiles
Passive profiles can be used to automatically place one or more random bets at a specific interval.
Good to know:
There is a limit to how many passive profiles you can have active. Check your subscription plans to get access to more passive profiles.
Creating a passive profile
Go to the passive profiles section on the web app and click the "Create passive profile" button. A create profile modal will show up for you to configure your profile.
Configuring
The configuration for a passive profile is very similar to smart profiles, but has the difference that you get to configure how often this profile will place a random bet.
Profile name, website, unit price and color are configured the same as from smart profiles.
- Random betting interval: how often you would like Tippy to open this passive profile to place a random bet? This setting can be changed later.
- Amount of bets: how many bets to place every time Tippy logs you in?
- Login/password: the credentials to use to sign you in on the betting website. This setting must be set from the Tippy application, because we do not sync user names/passwords to the cloud and only store it locally in your computer.
How does random betting work?
Let's pretend you have a passive profile configured as follows:
- Profile name: John
- Website: Bet365.com (UK)
- Unit price: $1.00
- Random betting interval: Every 12 hours
- Amount of bets: 5
- Min odds: 1.4
- Max odds: 2.0
Every 12 hours Tippy will do the following:
- Open a new browser tab.
- Sign you in using your login/password.
- Pick 5 bets randomly, with odds between 1.40 and 2.00
- Place those bets.
- Close browser tab.
Good to know:
All of this process runs on your own computer, meaning you need to leave your computer on, with the Tippy application open for these random bets to be placed.
Retrying a random bet
Sometimes the bet will fail for reasons beyond our control, for example, the bet was already closed. You can trigger a new bet placement by clicking the "Play" button in the passive profile page.
